New Additions

The tank has been headed in the wrong direction for awhile now and i have not had much time to do anything about it. I decided it was about time to do something. so i did a big water change, threw in some fresh Carbon and GFO. Tank still looks rough, but its getting better.

i pulled the trigger and finally got the anthias i wanted and a wrasse (carpenter wrasse i believe). Everyone is fat and happy as far as i can tell.

i added some xenia and prolifera to help clean up the water, and have started small amounts of carbon dosing via vinegar (less than 1mL for now). The skimmer has been slowing down with the production of skimmate which leads me to believe that the water is really cleaning up.

There is still hair algae and some diatoms. im hopeing to get this cleared up, a few more snails, a water change, and some time should do the trick

The fish look good! I didnt realize you still had your tank running. I thought you had taken everything down. and still a few corals to keep your feet wet. That’s good.

Bret use caution adding fuel for bacteria when you already have a high nutrient system. It is best to obtain a low nutrient system before implementing a probiotic approach and then use the organic carbon source and bacteria to keep it low.

It does not look as if snails would be a good idea, but that’s just my opinion.
