Final silicone job
Don;t forget to fill it to the brim and leak test it before you move on. to make sure your corner silicone is holding. and the same after you drill it. if you drill it. Fill it in the basement in case theres a leak. probably not but safety first.
Humm… Funny you started this same time I was working on my, “How big is to big thread”. I’m wondering if having some build a custom sized tank is the only way I am going to get the dimensions I want and can fit in my basement.
Damn it Ken can you pick signature line that is a sentence or something vs a picture that takes up the whole screen? lol
Ken the tank is already drilled and it will be water tested.
Jon gotta craw first. LOL
I need to see how this one works out, If it does good and I can't find anyone to build the one I want may try it myself but the next tank is going to be big so still a little scared.
im just trying to make the signature informative. too big? any smaller and i cant read it.
Ken I can’t read it now. The areas where the corals are are too small. The title isn’t long enough anyways. I don’t know what it is showing. “Ocean pH”? Worthless info. If it’s the pH at 300 meters depth. Conditions can change rapidly from the reef to open ocean. You still don’t even know what the pH is in your tanks anyways.
use your puter rather than the cell phone. its plenty big. yes, its surface ph. from scientific american i believe.
Using a wide screen monitor Ken. I’m hardly on here on my handheld.
thats odd with the sig size . on my 17 inch screen the PH chart was 2 inches high and 5 inches long. plenty big to read. now this new one is about 1/2 inch high and 2 inches long. something funny with settings?
Well got the tank up and running tonight not completed yet but up and working.
Nice! Came out real nice. You didn’t use that low iron glass did you?
If you ever end up with a frag you are going to sell/trade with one of those acro crabs in it let me know! So jealous you have a bunch of them.
Hey! It’s really… Blue! i guess its plumbed in with the main tank and sump for stability…
nice job. My kind of stand. Early American Arts and Crafts style.
you have a lot of nice sized colonies growing in there. i see why you needed a bigger frag tank.

Thanks Jon
No low budget ;D The side glass panels I had from a old job and just bought the bottom panel. Most of the acro crabs are in the main display tank I have one in the frag tank but there such a PITA to get out.

Thanks Ken and yeah it is, everything is plumbed together. I need to get the new pump plumbed in so I only have one pump running instead of 2 but for now it works. The stand was really there already but needed to be enlarged a little and all the supports are not there yet almost done. I also need to change the drain and feed line a little not routed the way I want yet. The tank is blue cause it has 2 blue atinics, a purple and a red T5 right now. Think I’m gonna put couple MH on it but little later. Think gonna go with couple 150 HQI’s of may look into LED’s not sure but for now we’ll see what kinda growth I get the way it is.
I was watching the tank last night and the fishies got a little restless and knocked my big pocilapora collony over and broke alot of big pieces off so I should have alot of big frags here soon.
MH on a shallow tank? Why? I still say the reason to use MH is when you have a deep tank. My opinion though.
I wouldn’t ever want anyone to remove a crab from his/her colony, but maybe frag off the second they’re in?
Hum… I forget what color your big pocillapora was. Is it the same as John’s large one. I just got a colony which grew from his.
My colony is green
The MH depend on what the T5's will do as far as color and growth. I know what the MH do ;D
I’d mix in some ATI AquaBlue Special. It’s a white bulb with a slight blue tint. I think it will help with growth a bit and get away from the solid blue color. You have a lot more options for color spectrum with the T5s then you would with MH and right now your not happy with your MH bulb color any ways. Stick with T5.
I’m looking for green pocillapora. Let me know how much you’d want for it and ~ size.

Yeah but my super powerfull HQI phoenixmaster blaster white bulbs are a little much but they are the best for growth just suck at the color thing.
