New Marineland heaters

Ran into a rep from Marineland yesterday. Turns out they are releasing a new line of Stealth Heaters very soon. These will have a light and an issue they had with the previous ones “bulging?” has been resolved.

It will take a while for them to show up as the old products need to sell through first. They will be the exact same price.

Just thought I would share. Cool to see that some of the large manufacturers are actually paying attention to their products and still working on them. Now if we could only get the company that makes maxi-jets to release people have been selling modification kits for there products for 5 years now and making a lot of $ on a couple small pieces of plastic. Oh wait… who makes maxi-jets again?

Jon - have you seen the RENA smart heaters yet? i picked them up for my 265g and could not be happier. they are amazing!! DPA ordered mine in for me and i noticed that they carry them now. Ive always liked the stealth heaters, but the RENA is lightyears ahead of other heaters IMO.

Hum, perhaps they helped push marineland to upgrade there heaters. I have seen them, but hadn’t paid them much attention to be honest. I have kind of been going by the, “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.”(IE I have probably 12 of the Stealths hooked up in my basement currently and haven’t had issues) I’ll have to try one of the RENAs out in one of my QT tanks just to give one a try.

To quote one of my favorite holiday movies, “I’ll give um a whorl.” (now who can name that movie?)

home alone.

so i take it u like the rena ones more? i need a new heater for the next set up thats why im woundering

rena heaters are great. they have a pretty accurate internal thermostat, which flashes if temp goes beyond a few degrees, and u can push water THROUGH them. the heating element heats through a tunnel in the middle. they are pretty much unbreakable. i have an extra 50 watt or 100 watt one if anyone wants to try em out. i have a 100 watt in my 75. my 75 stays around 80 without a heater so it never turns on, its just in there for redundancy.

the new fluval heaters look like the 2009 camaro of heaters
