Hello Fellow Reefers,
Just joined the board even though both my tanks are FOWLR. Have a 125 gallon with a Hippo Tang, Tomato Clown, Pinkface Wrasse and will be adding tomorrow a super rare Skeletor Eel to the mix.
Have also a 300 gallon circular tank 42" diameter and 44" high in the works with a 125 gallon refugium. Should be running and cycled by the end of the year. Here is a preview of the tank and pic of the Eel.

I actually heard about your tank and eel saturday from a friend that works at Premium Aquatics when you stopped by this weekend. Ive got a big FOWLR as well and im a big fan of eels. Im assuming you got the eel from Live Aquaria? I remember reading about it a month or so ago on the reef builders blog when it was available. Defintely one very cool and very rare eel!
Is that circular tank a rotating tank?

Yes I did get it from Live Aquaria, Diver’s Den section. Can’t wait to see it.

No, it’s not rotating. You pretty much can walk around 80% of it, there is a bar high counter attached to it, where you can sit and eat or whatever while looking at the tank. I’ll take some pics once it’s completely done.

Awesome animal, awesome tank! Huge fans of eels here as well. I took in a small snow flake eel about 3 years ago that now has a 65g tank pretty much to himself. Do you have any other stocking plans for the tank?
Do you have any inverts in your FOWLR? The only thing I know about that particular moray is that all the eels in that genus have teeth designed specifically for breaking tough shells. Do you know how large the eel is? Will you be able to post pics when you get it?
If you need any help with the fuge or anything else I’d volunteer some time. I’ve plumbed tanks hundreds of times before and would love a chance to check out your tanks. Have you had them set up for a while?
Please feel free to start more threads. Don’t feel that just because this is a reef forum that we aren’t interested in speaking to people that keep primitive FOWLR tanks.(Just kidding)

No inverts in my 125 FOLWR nor there will be any on my 300 since all the fish will be on the aggressive side.
The crew from WWM told me that this Eel eats mostly crustaceans which is what you are confirming me. I think it’ll be 12" long, I’ll get it tomorrow morning. Will post pics as soon as the eel is acclimated.
Thanks for offering your help, I might take you up on it and even if I don’t, we could meet someday and we can check out each other’s tanks. Will you be at the Nov 14th meeting? I’m shooting for it.
The 125 has been set up for a couple of years, the 125 refugium has been running for about a year, it’s full of live rocks with tons of critters in it. Will be setting up the 300 this month, all the plumbing is all ready done just need to fix a leak on the bottom of the tank… don’t ask, it’s a long story that has been going on for over 5 years!!

I’ll be ordering Spaghetti algae as I get closer to starting the tank. I don’t really want to deal with Caulerpa algae.

Chaeto? Good call. I prefer it heavily over any species of Caulerpa for many reasons.
Probably no need to order. There is usually some of us pruning some back. There was someone giving some away recently in the market place forum. If he doesn’t have any more if you make a post that you are looking for Chaeto someone will speak up.

At least Lambo Boy’s were made from cast of real corals. Not fake fresh water plants.

The tank and enclosure was made in Las Vegas by ATM.
Welcome Lambo. I am looking forward to talking to you at the next meeting. I have been thinking about setting up a large FOWLR tank ever since I saw Logan’s Daddy 265g. You should definitely post some more pics of your tanks. Your circular tank is awesome.
