Yet again another fantastic turn-out. I swear if we ever start advertising these meetings anywhere other then this site we’re going to need a valet service.
I still don’t know if it’s the great presentations, the DIY talks, or the food. But whatever it is…it’s working.
This months theme was Chinese food. It wasn’t quite ready when the meeting started but in just 10 minutes …
After dinner we were treated to a virtual tank tour from Marchinbandjs - it was nice to see a tank photographed under natural room lighting for a change instead of those pesky MH and T5 lights we’re so used to.
As always the audience was captivated
It really was a nice presentation, and the level of detail – simply amazing - I never knew there so much to know about “the purple thing” (between you and I…I think John drowned Barney just to have something else in his tank :P)
Next came the blueprint drawings for the DRC ATO. This is going to be nice. It will be even nicer when we can talk the officers in to raffling these puppies off PoM
I’m hoping they will be willing to donate a custom unit to have a full end-user review written up and published as promotional material to someone who contributes regularly to the boards, has a knack for writing, is too cheap to upgrade from the “8 year old with a bucket ATO” he uses now - - oh and has the ability to post really bad pictures of our president
The final presentation of the night was courtesy of The Fish Bowl www.thefishbowldover.com a great local fish store in Dover. They were gracious enough to send BJ up to talk to us about the history of the store, some details about their set-ups, filtration, electric bills, etc.
The stories were priceless and the audience was absolutely captivated with his insightfulness.
Seriously though, it was nice a great talk and BJ was gracious enough to share way more information then his mother would have liked him to slap-stick - but I think we all feel just a little bit closer to the store now. I’m looking forward to my next trip down to Dover to stop in (especially since they apparently price their Flame Angels low enough that they can’t even keep them in the store). PoM
The night wrapped up with another great raffle. Some very nice frags went to some needy homes, and a wide assortment of Seachem products for the little dosers in all of us as the Golden Ticket item
I don’t have the list as to who won what - but I know who didn’t:
T’was a great meeting, looking forward to our next 2 events. May 1st at East Coast Aquatics and May 8th at The Fish Bowl.
See ya’ll there!!!
