These corals come in some intense colors. I’ve seen some nice ones come in during the last year, but this collection of images really makes me want a tank dedicated to these eye poppin
I have to say I disagree a bit with the statement that they, “are some of the hardiest ‘LPS corals’”. Can’t tell you how many I have seen crash after shipping.
Fungiidae family, one of my favorites. Includes tongue coral. A genus that will inflate itself to the point where it flips over onto it’s face and then does so again, resulting in a tumbling action moving it forward. Heleofungia that looks like an anemone or a messed up inflated Euphyllia coral. Many species, like Fungia and Cycloseris, just have one polyp, but others are covered in polyps like a “typical” coral colony. All kinds of fun stuff.
They do look like bright jewels. So when are you setting up the tank?
Maybe when I retire in my 90s. He who am i kidding, I’ll probably never be able to afford the tank or retirement. Cost of doing what I love and being born in the 80s. Joining the work force and starting a business during a recession, great timing.
Hey, even so, you are still scraping by, and things will only get better in time.
Take the worm!!
