I don’t know how many of you find yourself having to restock snails. My CUC was lacking a little bit so I ordered again from reefcleaners. They seem to be great on pricing and fast on shipping. This is my second order from them in within 2 years and both times were great.
My first order I had no doa’s this time Only 3 were doa’s out of 208snails with a couple hermits that snuck in the cerith snail shells when they shipped. They also seem to put a good bit more in the package then I ordered so who knows the final count lol.
Just thought I would bring it up Maybe Craig can get them to be a sponser on our forums :think)
Well looks like I have to take back what I said earlier. I have found an unusually high fatility rate as things acclimated. First order with them was death free pretty much this time I am not so lucky.
12-15+x hermits mixed in i did not order in the F. Ceriths shells and 1 I found in a nasarius.
10x nerites alive and leaving eggs around my tank again
40x F. Ceriths I have lost over 20.
1x fuzzy chitin- dead
5 limpets - 1 dead others mia
100 dwarf ceriths - hard to say they gave me more but a lot did not make it
50x nasarius vibex? - only have found a few dead.
I am going to gather all the dead ones together and get a picture for a claim since the die off was pretty much immediate.
I am running bio pellets again as I took them off the system for a week or 2 and I finally setup my second reactor for phostgaurd and running a polyfilter.
How did you acclimate, most shipped inverts and fish do much better to get them out of the water they came in ASAP once fresh air is introduced, which often means a quick temp float and get them out of that water in like 10 minutes as once fresh air is introduced the ph swing is huge.

I spoke with them last year and they weren’t sponsoring any new clubs. I don’t fully remember their reasoning, but considering I had about the same luck as you’re having when I ordered from them a few years ago, I’m not really worried about losing their sponsorship. I much prefer a company that stands behind their orders and won’t make you order anohter $75 worth of items in order to get free shipping on replacements for the items that arrived DOA.
My first order was flawless. This order was a bit flawed. The customer support seems to be good so far as I have been keeping them updated. I have to take a picture and they will refund and prorate the shipping. I told em I am looking for snails not a refund I bought snails and want snails.

For snails and hermits they recommend to temp adjust them and then put them in the tank. Once I cut the bags I was immediately putting them into both tanks.
