If you are looking for something on ebay, now’s the time! What you have to do is sign up for a MS Live account at www.live.com, then do a search for something pricey, like PS3 or WII or XBOX. You’ll see a logo at the top that says:
www.ebay.comLive Search cashback
Buy Wii. You may get 30% off with PayPal if eligible.
Make sure you click on that link and it will redirect you to ebay. Once you are at ebay, do a search for whatever you want, and as long as it has a “Buy it Now” option and the ability to use Paypal to pay for it, you will get 30% cash back. They were running this promotion 2 months ago, and it lasted about a week. I did it then and currently have $75 in my cashback account and have 5 days remaining until I can get that money. You have to wait for 60 days before you can pull the cash out of the live.com site. As time goes by, they decrease the % cashback, so I guarante the 30% won’t last much longer, it’ll go to 25%, 15%, and so on until they no longer do it. The max you can get back is $250 for this promotion. Here is the link to the forum that answers ANY possible question you might have: FatWallet - Thank you!
I just made a $269 purchase (Reefkeeper 2!!) using this promotion and go $80 back!
Now’s the time to get that skimmer or controller (like me) that you’ve been waiting for!!!
Well I got a 5 gallon bucket today, and I just realized they have water that they sell there so if I do get a larger fish I can just buy some extra water. I also got the ok from the rents to use 95 since they are working on the bay bridge and it will be madness to try that again! one lane of traffic! So I think I may go to the store, see what they have, and buy it and pick it up in the morning right before I leave. I’m still debating on getting up from my comfy couch to go to the fish store though lol. We shall see.
Update: Well I got off my butt and convinced my mom to go with me. We saw what was probably the cutest bicolor blenny I had seen to date. He was playing peek-a-boo the entire time! He came out and watched us after a while and I fell in love with him as well as my mom who is now jealous hahaha. They had wrasses but they were very overpriced comparitively speaking lol. So I’m staying the extra time to go tommorrow to pick him up at noon and take him home. Pictures might not be possible tommorrow night since he will be going in late, I will have a meeting to go to, and by time I come back lights will be off. lol But I promise pictures will be on my thread soon
Everyone seems to want an active and dynamic club, some are more vocal about it than others. So why hasnt anyone volunteered for the first TTOTM? Ive decided that we wont do one in Oct so Icy’s will be the first for Nov. It doesnt matter if you dont think you have a show tank. Its more about participation and contributing to the growth of the club. It also goes a long way in making our website more appealing to the public. Its a great way to document your tank to have a way to compare growth shots and other changes down the road.
I’ll volumteer mine to be the next available month. Hopefully it will all be moved and set up by the end of this weekend so it should be good to go by December / January.
If you still want to get it rolling this month, I am willing to offer my display and frag tank up for this month. I am not totally happy with my display right now… but then I can always have another one done as a before and after situation… don’t get me wrong nothing is wrong with my display just not happy with the aquascaping. I am right around the corner from you (well within 10 minutes) and am sure we could work out something schedule wise. Let me know.
I think im going to wait to do Bellamy’s for Nov 1 so that everyone has equal time. If you want, im sure craig wouldnt mind you going Dec 1 to give him another month.
This works out well. I think having 3 TTOM lined up in advance is good. Once we put Bellamy’s up i will solicit for Feb 1.
So far:
Icy Nov 1
Andy Dec 1
Craig Jan 1
Does this work for everyone involved up to this point?
im going to give it a shot. if you have good pics already, especially of livestock or FTS, you can give them to me on a CD if you want. I probably just email you the questionaire when i make it since the tour will be part of a meeting.
If anyone has a macro lens then it might be a good thing to bring. I’m going to buy a reading lens (magnifying glass) so that I can take some macro shots, but they generally dont turn out as good as shots with a good camera and a macro lens.
