So i have a wellso brain coral and today it has been closed up or not inflated…i seen a fish nip at it yesterday…today its not inflated one bit … what steps should i take?
what fish nipped at it. It may be just a random act and will open back when its not irritated. I have a few that shrink for a period then open back up. If mine stay closed a long time i dip them
it was one of my YT damsels…the same one that bites me every time i put my hand in the tank… it keeps it up, it will be my bait the next time i go fishing! LOLLOL
lol i wouldn’t worry about it too much now, just keep an eye on it it should be ok if its not back to normal in a few days to a week i would dip it.
On a brighter note, i got my SPS’s all in place and as soon as i see em color up and make sure all is well with the tank, I shall be making another trip to your place…this time for a larger order … sadly enough, i think some of my LPS’s will be gone…the others look so much better to me.
You sure it doesn’t have anything to do with your new LED’s?
Are they regurgitating? Maybe the fish is eating what the LPS is throwing up?

If you have recently changed to leds I would suggest doing the led acclamation process described on our home page.
it has been under my LEDs since i got it…it did this after i caught a fish nipping at it
Leds can be tricky like that, you put frags under them and they look fine for a week to a month and then start fading or receding/closing up, I have had LEDs for well over a year and if I turn the white past 50% some of my zoas will not open.
I would try turning down the lights some and see what happens.
I run mine
Blues ramp 10% to 70%
Whites ramp 10% to 45%
UV/Red on 100% for 4 hours a day
