Pest or Good?

I found these on my glass near one of my powerheads today. Never seen them before. My first thought was flatworm of some sort, but most pest flatworms will be found on a coral I thought.

Anyone seen these before?

How big are they?

Really small like 3-5mm in diameter maybe.

They are smaller than the baby asterina stars near them.

most flat worms are harmless. of the hundreds of varieties, only a few are a pest or harmful. some FWs even eat the bad FWs.

They kinda look like the aliens from The Abyss

I can’t make out the colors well enough in your pic, and believe me, i know you did the best you can, getting a decent pic of those little things is tough…
If they’re rusty brown with a reddish orange dot in the middle they’re very common flatworms.
I see them from time to time in my tanks, mostly they’ll huddle up on a mushroom or in a low flow corner. I don’t know if they’re hurting it (mushroom), but if i see a bunch i’ll take out the shroom, and tap in in a cup of tank water to shake em off.
IME i’ve seen their numbers go up when nutrients rise, and i’m also pretty sure my sixline wrasse put a hurtin on them in my 125.

If you want to really get rid of them, or even control them ( some people wont tolerate even one in their display :BB) ) here’s a good link http://www.melevsreef.com/flatworms.html
my :TWOCENTS is just siphon, or remove and shake in container of SW if you need to control them. I don’t think a few in a healthy tank is anything to treat, they’re part of the “eco system” i’d think ::thinking::

Look up common flat worms in salt water fish tanks and this is what you get
