Phew! Just got back from TFP.

So instead of going to the Baltimore aquarium we decided to go to TFP (ThatFishPlace) and my parents decided they wanted to come along as well. Left the house at 3 got back home by 9 and just got done acclimating all of the newly acquired specimens. Long story short I got too much stuff and spent too much money!

How can you leave us hanging? What did you get!? Where are the pics!?

What new animals! lol

if you and family liked tpp try the hidden reef next time. just as impressive if not better in my eyes. and it is around 15 minutes closer.

the guy on the end on right hand side should be holding up a GEICO SIGN.

see al its so easy even a caveman can do it.

Lol I had to add some mystery in to it…

Glen, Actually I wasn’t happy with some of the items in their frag tank. It looked like a few of their LPS had brown jelley disease although I’m not sure what that looks like and some of their other stuff just didn’t look as ‘pristine’ as I thought it would. All in all it was still a cool place, I’ll have to check that place out next time although 15 mins on a 1 45 min trip isn’t much lol.

Considering the frags I’ll be getting at the meeting I’m wondering if I’m spiking the bioload too quickly, I think I’ll rotate in a few more live rocks from the other tanks.

On to the good stuff. One new fish, 5 new softies, 1 LPS

Golden head sleeper goby, who immediately began to restructure the sandbed and make his home. I put him on the opposite side of the tank from the zebra goby so hopefully they don’t run into each other too often.

A colony of mushrooms on a rock. They have a cream/tan base color with green polyp type things on them.

A single umbrella mushroom that’s blue, I’m not sure if he didn’t like the tank or the location because he was doing some shape shifting when I put him in.

An orange/purple ricordia

Pink zoas, they were listed as pink polyps. I never saw these until acclimating, the gf bought them and asked if she could get them after she purchased them… >.<

Orange catus…something or other

And about a 5 polyp trumpet frag.

And a few odds and ends. Pictures to follow.

Wow, very nice!!

And expensive… Its so easy when you see all those corals do just be like, oh I’ll take one of those and those and two of those…then you see the bill.

I took some pics but they are with just the actinics on, so the colors don’t come out very well. I’ll put all the lights on about mid day for an hour so I’ll try some pics then.

Sounds good except possibly for “orange cactus”… some places use similar names for a type of non-photosynthetic coral that isnt really suited to aquaium life (at least not in most tanks)

It looks photosynthetic, its polyps are brightly colored, don’t know if that is any indication. It may have been mismarked as well. The name we bought it under I believe was Green eyed Orange Cactus coral.

Pics? That way we get to oogle all the new corals too

Ok ok… Pics YahoO

Admins, let me know if I’m filling up the server too much lol, this will take a few posts.

First two are the Green eye Orange Cactus

Next two are the recent Hammer I got from DPA (figured I’d throw these in)
