Phosban?

Who sells it around here or something comparable?

If you were at the meeting last night you could have won a TLF 550 for $20, LOL. haven’t heard of any one other than Rob, but not sure if he had sold it yet or not. Can’t really compare for LFS. of course the price is little bit more compare to online store.

Anywhere local sell it? Or is that something that needs to be order from BRS?

Marine depot. Aquamaxx is the cheapest price

i was just looking this up. through marinedepot its $27.98 with shipping for a quart through amazon its $25.99 and will ship free if you spend $35 or more.

Buy the gallon. It doesnt last very long

Over the years I’ve tried a few GFO products to include: Phosban, Rowaphos, and both the regular and HC GFO from BRS. They all worked, but the HC from BRS, even though more expensive than their regular was more cost effective. I’m judging this on my system that was fully matured and stable with the same feeding habits, WC’s, skimmer, BP’s, etc. Using the Phosban, Rowaphos and regular BRS GFO, I’d get about a month out of each recharge. Using the HC GFO from BRS, I used half the amount and I’d get about two months out of a recharge. I used a BRS reactor, and measured my PO4 using a Hanna checker.
Everyone’s system is going to be different, but proportionally the results should be the same. I would keep an eye on BRS this time of year, during the holidays they usually put there branded products on sale, and is a good time to stock up. I like their ROX 0.8 GAC too.

Here’s good articles about GFO:

Phosguard is another P04 reducing media, but is an aluminum oxide based product, and I never tried it due to this article:
