pics of my tank

well here are some pictures of my tank from today 8/15.

That is a well stocked tank. I don’t want to be negative but where will you move all the corals as they grow in?

This picture is the reason I asked. They look great now but if they grow a bit they will fight and the zoas should win. The mushroom is already on the base of the SPS coral and one should be moved.

i plan on selling some stuff which will give me some room but i will be(hopefully) up grading to a 75 or 90. sorry about the bad pictures was in a rush, lost to do befor school starts

that mandarin looks nice and fatttt, brett. i see the acans you got from eca too. nice going

you are doing very good Brett. the corals are showing nice growth and colors. great collection of species too. I think you’re gonna need a bigger tank soon.

Tank looks nice and stocked! It’s really looking great, loaded up 25

things look nice, i agree with a1amap, i had zoo’s take out an acro i had.

the olny thing attached to the rock is the mushroom. i have not attached anything because my mom keep bugging me to do an upgrade. im just waiting on some space in the kitchen and money to put up the tank.

the olny problem i have had is with phosphates and maybe some excess nitrates. i belive this is the reason why my peralberry has browned. the thing that is weird is that olny a hand full of coral have browned/bleached.

all and all everything is going pretty well. hopefully thing will continue to go this well and get better, olny time will tell.

Repeat after me:

“Hey mom, I know you want me to get a bigger tank, but right now I just can’t do it myself. You come to all of the meetings anyway, why don’t WE get a bigger tank and WE can work on stocking it and making it a show piece for the hosue? This will give us valuabe bonding time, and when we have company come over wouldn’t it be great to show them and say ‘this is what Brett and I do together’?”

This way you can get her to finance the bigger tank and equipment. She won’t want to put her hand in the water with the toxins we’re always talking about, so you get your new tank and she gets all mushy at the thought of having a hobby together…

Tank looks great Brett. Everything looks pretty healthy. Coraline covered rocks look awesome. Have some very nice pieces as well.

Different corals with different tolerance. If you are measuring any phosphates on a hobby grade off the shelf phosphates then you really have significant phosphates. If you haven’t been using RO that long it may still be leaching out of your rocks(which it will do for a long time). If it’s been 6 months of changes with RO and you are frequently changing your phosphate removal media then there is a problem with feeding.(or just too many things in the tank requiring food and not enough phosphate control)

Love Craig’s input. A hobby you guys can do together is great. Also have her do research for you and try to find what corals she wants to buy next. My gf had to get some pink zoas and some pink ricordea. I didn’t really fight her when she wanted to buy corals, lol.

Also have to agree with Al you have to be careful when you place the corals. Your Euphylia looks identical to the one that kill 90% of a monti cap I had in Qt… it’s also less then an inch away from your monti cap.

Can’t wait to trade some pieces with you. You have very good taste in selecting corals.

See you at the BBQ.

Oh btw are you still running a frag tank or is this the one and only?

thank jon, as far as the stock i know its packed but hopefully ill be upgrading this year.
i no longer have the frag tank, too much work.

here are some new pics, not much has changed.

but i did get a new lobo from premium. pic is bad and dosent do it justic.

i really need to get in there with a razor and clean this tank up but that is a project for another day(along with adjusting the camra lol)

Brett, man the tank is looking quite A+, wish I was as involved and knowledge in the hobby as you are at that age.
