Pocillopora damicornis

I just picked one up, I always wanted one, and since my 24 has been done cycling for weeks now, SPS is probably best to add first.

So my question to you all is this, well i got a decent size frag, but wanted a show size piece but also wanted to grow it out myself. Do these grow fairly quickly? Does anyone got pics of these in their tank? I have it mid to upper level of tank and flow pointed right at it, any other pointers? Ive read the are easy to maintain and believe i meet all requirments, but if you got any thing to add to help me id appreciate it!!

i dunno that i would point the flow directly at it… i have mine in a higher flow area but not a direct powerhead pointing at it.it should grow pretty quick mine has almost double it’s size from a small frag in about a month or two

no i dont have a power head pointed at it , more like the return pump i have a dual feed out and one part is pointing down at it about 6 inches - 8 inches away. its gettin medium flow…

I have three colonies in my tank. Here are a couple of pics

omg they are beautiful, and look fairly big!!! How long have you had them? did u buy em big?

Thanks, the pics are not very clear. When purchased, they were small. I have had them for years. Just sold some frags of them a little while back. I really like the colors of the green polli.

yes thats what i have the green… If it does well, I want to find the pink variety as well…

Also do you spot feed it phyto? or do you just add some to the and do you cut off power heads and pumps as if you were feeding LPS ?

also its 4 inches from my frogspawn, its a small frag of frog ( say that 10 times fast ) but should i move it now?

I do feed phyto, but do not spot feed, just add it to the water and turn off powerheads. About your placement, not really sure if frogspawn have long tenicales that may affect your polli. Check with other people on here for the correct info about the location.

reccomended is 6" of space around any euphyllia… i would just keep an eye on the pocci. if the side closest to the frogspawn starts to decline, move it
