You’re probably right, but I don’t know it yet. My wife fills my stocking each year with Super Glue Gel and Duct Tape.[/quote]
And its not for the fish tank lOl

what is a safe alternitive to super glue. can i still use it. net nanny lol

Epoxy putty

Wasn’t there someone in the club that lost a bunch of stuff after using epoxy putty? I thin I remember a thread… Anyway, I’ve used it, just be careful. I would still go with superglue.

Can’t use a ton at one time. You can run charcoal

am i still aloud to use super glue when i need to glue zoos on to a rock. how much kill off will there be. how much can i use when i frag anything that needs to be glued???

I think he was referring to the epoxy not the superglue. You should be fine with the superglue for frags.

Exactamundo…

I believe it was tattoo who lost a lot of corals to using a lot of epoxy. I have used it to attach a lot of things but not all at once.

Someone mentioned before used a ton at once in his tank and had problems, but at the same time he was having lots of other problems, and I’m sure it did not help that he took the whole tank down, re-rock-worked it and put it up again after it had been running fine for a long time, but was over fed and had lots of crushed coral in it. In the hobby people often post that they did “A” and “Z” happened, but they don’t mentioned they also did 24 other things at the same time. I know many MANY people that have used epoxy with out problems. Just watch you’re skimmer after wards and don’t use a lot at a time.

I’ve used TONS of super glue at a time and not run out. I always get looked at weird when I come to the counter at the dollar store with 8-10 dollars worth of 3 pack super glues.

And when you tell them its for your aquarium, they just look at you like your crazy…

Eh, I just let them form their own opinions. I stopped trying to explain my actions a long time ago. It’s a shame how small of a precentage of the world population really understands what corals and reefs are.

so i hav the glue(lol 8 packs). im going to glue the power head onto the about 5 year old magflote rated for 30 gallons. Q should i buy a new mag? is the mag i have now big enough to support the weight of the power head. is the biggest sweeper zoo med makes. thanks brett

Hum… having a hard time picturing the size of the powerhead and the magfloat. Perhaps you could try a test run in your tank by using some rubber bands or some fishing line to hold it for a moment?
