QT tank- copper

what is everyone using for copper treatment in their QT tank when you get new fish

I’m using Copper Power right now. It seems to be better tolerated than cupramine. The new recommendation is chloroquine phosphate, but you need a prescription from a vet for it.

I havent bought fish in a long time because of tbis pain in the arse process! I hate putting corals in qt too!

Also, are you familiar with the tank transfer method? No chemicals and guarantees no ick.

No I am not, please explain. thanks

Instead of using medication, you use two tanks to outrun the lifecycle of the ick tomonts. You switch the fish between tanks every 72 hours for 12 days and then you are guaranteed ick free. There are more specifics, but that is the gist.

I LIKE

It only works for ick, but it is pretty awesome. I started it for 5 Vanderbilt chromis I got last week. I had to stop when two showed signs of velvet. Now I’m using copper
