Tim you probably rite, I was surprised to see that it works.

I’ve always uses some bacteria at water changes or when things look a bit dirty. Seachem stability and nutrafin waste control have always helped. lately, im using more Microbe Lift saltwater products. just started using their gravel cleaner bacteria. it comes out looking like black ink and colors the water for a bit. then clarifies it and starts working on crud in the sand. along with their Special Blend. its all grown in the bottles. they make fresh water bacteria by the tanker truck load for cleaning up rivers, and lakes and ponds that have been poluted. good stuff.
