Really cheap LEDs

Anyone ever hear of this brand?

Crazy cheap though, half the price i paid for my units. I wonder if they’re any good.

They look exactly the same as my Chinese ones. Great price!! I might have to buy some. They are already in the states too so I won’t have to wait 4 weeks for them to sail here from China.

Yes, I use them myself. They work fine and for the price you can’t beat. I know some people will say you get what you pay for, but in the long run you’ll still save more money with it then those over priced ones.

Of course they are non programmable, lunar function or hook up to your APEX (Unless you can talk to Bryant our vice president into breaking in and do some rewiring with arduino program chip for you) then you can do that. Also will it grow corals, yes it will. Color of the coral all depends on how you dial in the color of the light.

All in all, I’m happy with it.

Thanks for the shout out A!

I forgot to mention that I ran into a problem with my fixture a little while ago. There was a lot of condensation in one of the fixtures and the connectors inside were shorting. I cut all the connectors out and soldered it all together and it’s as good as new. Not saying you will have that problem, just FYI

what Bryant, did yours have twist nut connections in it, rather than plug and socket or apparently not hard wired soldered.

They’ve really come down in price in the past few years.

I do need to mod them to accept a 0-10vdc signal

Plug and socket. Just humidity inside the fixtures and low quality connectors.

If its dimmable then you can always figure out a way of controlling it. Most of the Chinese ones it’s just a potentiometer and 0-10v or something close.

Just saw this on R2r

Bryant, do I just need to measure the pot resistance and replace with a digipot?

That could work. There’s lots of ways to do it

Can you elaborate please?

Someone mentioned you actually did this and I thought I remembered seeing a thread on this but can’t find it. can you point me to your build?

Here’s his thread.

What I meant is that you have to make sure it maches what u have n the fixture current and resistance wise. It should be pretty straight forward once u know what ur working with.

They’re dirt cheap though. Digital Potentiometer - 10K - COM-10613 - SparkFun Electronics

Thanks reefman! Hey i even posted in that thread lol

Hmmmm Bryant. sounds like a possible short presentation you could do. a quickie tutorial on how to test your fixture to determine the mod requirements?
or something like that.
