I am in the market for a new test kit for PO4 and NO3. The kit has to be low range as I found the API kit unsatisfactory. I would like to hear from others their experience with test kits and hanna checkers. Things important to me are: ease of testing, accurate DEFINITIVE results , (color variation must be easy to read), and price. I would be interested in a hanna but not sure if it suits the needs. It says accuracy is +/- 0.04 which seems to be quite a bit compared with salifert, red sea, elos and others. Has anyone used a hanna and is it consistent in its readings? All input is appreciated.
I use Hanna for both PO4 and Alk, and like them both. I’m still using Salifert for NO3. Hanna does make a higher resolution phosphorus meter, but I haven’t really seen a need.
Here’s some reading:
I use a combo of Hanna and salifert, Hanna for po3 & alk, salifert for everything else

since i am no longer tanked i have a hanna alk and a hanna phosphate checker PLUS some unopened po4 extra tests that I’ll never use. take everything for $35. ask anyone if it’s consistent and accurate. and it’s easy and almost infallible
Po4 alk Hanna salifert Elos for all else and if you don’t buy that from Paul I will

Sounds like a deal. PM sent
OK after reading the reviews I am going to go with the hanna for PO4 (not to mention a good deal - Thanks Paul) But still undecided on the NO3. I think I might just go with Salifert since that is what I use for calcium, magnesium, and alkalinity. Never had any issues with it and decent price. Does anyone think another brand is better and why?
