This guy lives in Northern Pennsylvania .I bought frags from this guy last year at the NCPARS That Fish Place Frag swap and all i could say was WOW!! they were amazing and his tank is no exception. I just wish my tank didnt crash :-(". The good news it that he will be at the frag swap and i can get some frags YahoO.

Well he’s got clams so I like him already!! ;D
Wow, spectacular reef tank GolfC GolfC GolfC
When is that frag swap again? I know we ran into each other last year, and Lindsay and I loved what we got from it.
I tried to register with RC and the activation email wont come through no matter how many times I resend it… anyone else have that problem when they signed up?

Nope - I’ve been banned from RC for almost 2 years now ;D
I signed up about 6 yrs ago and have been banned now for 1 yr.
For what!? lol?
Having an opinion probably or caring about animals. One or the other, many people are banned at the blink of an eye.
I’ve skirted the line many many times and have more PMs from mods then anything else on reef central.
Well since my tank was doing very well, and my corals needed trimming, I started selling my frags in the propagated coral forum. After a while, and I can tell you that all my feedback was positive, one of the mods said that I was using RC for monetary purpose and not contributing enough to RC. I found this a little strange, since I learned everything I was doing from being a member of RC. So they decided to ban me from being a member. I am not sure all of the mods really understand what this hobby is all about, they only see what they want to see. You will notice the same people selling their frags over and over and over.
RC was and still may be, in some peoples opinion, one of the best reef sites available. I personally think they have beome too big and commercialized, more in it for the money. Reefers are better off getting involded in their local reef clubs where it is more personal and just as easy to acquire info.
LOL yeah no kidding. Mine was actually less eventful.
I was selling a PH monitor, someone else had one on Ebay at the same time. They banned me because I told them I couldn’t take down the Ebay auction…they didn’t seem to understand it wasn’t MY auction!!
I agree RC mods heads are way too big, I know this all too well being banned multiple (yes multiple) times. But IMO it still is the best forum out there, because of the people who are on it, the mods prevent it from being even better though. The classifieds and trading is really good on there though.
I personally don’t agree with the over emphasis on political correctness. I have seen countless threads closed due to politicization or some member taking offense. It is absurd, and that’s the reason why I only lurk on RC. It is a great resource with a lot of accumulated knowledge. But the Mod’s are on power trips and stuck somewhere in the past regarding their views.
To be honest the only good thing I had found with RC over the last couple years I was on there was the market place. You could get some really good deals on equipment - but trying to sell stuff you had to deal with people that wanted to offer you $20 for a wave2k.
As far as national forums I prefer reef-geeks.com as there is a solid group of people over there with some great knowlege and experience - and the mods are absolute rockstars ;D
But there is nothing better then the local club’s forum for getting great informaiton form people you know and can trust - therefore DRC will always be the #1 bookmark in my browser YahoO
If I want to find a number of people that have kept two particular species of fish together to see their experiences the odds are much greater I will get a hit on ReefCentral. Other then that Reef-Geeks and DRC. I’ve been too busy to really discuss things much, but I swear I am going go try to get a build thread going for my new tank. Have to find the time to work on my new tank first.
+1 on Reef-geeks.com. I foresee that website surpassing RC in the future. Especially if Chris and Barb maintain and develop the current ethos and expertise.

Don’t forget the hyphen ;D they are 2 completely different sites.
I agree it could easily be bigger then RC and would love to see it happen. Management seems much better suited for this type of endeavor then over at RC.
Management is in the hobby vs someone in it just to make money.
I knew there was something amiss with the red underline! hahaha
