John i know you got a deal on your fixture, but any round about idea of what it would cost to diy a similar light for the 180g?
To be honest, I don’t know. But with the way LED’s are being built today, I would research and not make it the way mine is. My fixture only has whites and blues. All the new designs have more colors added to them, to cover more of the light spectrum.
John, it’s really hard to give good prices as there are so many variables, the big ones being the drivers and heat sinks, they are making large strides in LUXdrive drivers such as quad channel drivers, so with just two of those you could control 8 channels and they would be small enough to mount in the fixture doing away with remote driver installations.
For your 125 tank I would say cheap end $500.00 that would get you a 120LED aquastyle online kit, + 6 $20.00 heatsinks + shipping you would need to build your own mounting system.
