Reefcleaners fish kill

has anyone had major problems after adding a clean up crew package ?
I added a snail only cleanup crew, followed the acculation process from reefcleaners.
None of the shipping water at all entered the tank, well maybe a couple ml that were inside of shells.

I think 98% were fine and I showed no amonina spike or nitrates tested a couple times daily for the first couple days after adding, well two days after adding them my RBTA have been not looking happy only opening to about 1/4 of their normal size.

Then a couple days after that the scopas tang I got from A looking like it may be getting ich but was still eating well, next day it was covered in ich and had cloudy eyes and died shortly after, my other fish two clowns and a six line all looked fine no spots clear eyes and eating well, well two days after the tang died I find my female clown dead no symtoms at all and now the male clownfish looks like he has brooklynella six line still looks fine.

Been running clean carbon changing every 3 days, just went a got garlic guard.

How could I have avoided this ? should I have really QT the clean up crew ?
By the time I saw the spots on the tang it was in the tank and no way to put all my fish in hosptal tank at one time for more that a day or two?

WOW, that’s sucks Frank. And that’s one of the reason why I don’t want purchase animals on line. Wish I can help you out, but it seems to me like snails may brought in some type of bacteria that killed your fish. QT may be your best answer in the future.

That sucks - have you discussed it with Reef Cleaners yet, see if anyone else has had any issues? Have they encountered problems like this before?

I just had a similar thing happen to me. Had a pair of clowns in a small tank and added a CUC. A day or 2 later I see white spots. Less than 30 hours, both are dead. It seems like isopods or something. There are visible parasites on the glass from BARELY visible to 1.5mm or so. Some are white at one end and more transparent at the other. But they are pretty big for a parasite, you can see them with the naked eye, looking very closely. So what should I do with the CUC now? They are the only thing left in the tank. I don’t want to kill them off but won’t put them in another tank either. I can’t medicate them to my knowledge, or can I use “reef safe” paragard by sentry? Its mostly oil extracts.

I have ordered from there before and didn’t have an issue. I guess anything can happen when you add anything to your tank especially from a store that just got the livestock in. That really sucks that you lost all those fish.

I have ordered from reefcleaners.org 2 times in the past. No diseases in my tank that I know of.

First time I had no problems at all (snail only 75g cuc). Second order I did have problems with receiving hermits in a snail only custom cuc and a good bit of snail’s that were DOA.
The people there are great. Customer service was prompt and fair.

I should mention not all of the CUC came from there. (in my case) I can not blame anyone nor am I trying to. Just wonder what to do with these things.
