renew your old di resin

Anybody done this yet?

I have thought about doing it several times, but never got around to it. I have stock pile of used DI resin too. Haven’t heard of anyone around here did it though.

Sounds like a meeting topic?

Would you like to do it and present it?

Id like to try it first. Im gonna need a stock pile of resin.

You can have my stock pile as long as we split in half once done.

thats a very good step by step instruction. Pretty much like the industrial regeneration process for water treatment and ion removal. the nice thing is after you have the anion and cation resins separated from mixed DI resin, you can use them in separate filter canisters, and make the future regens a step or two easier. so you would have two canisters in series. you might find that one of the resins does more work or removes more of its ions, and would need regenerating more often than the other. its possible, depending on whats in your tap water. perhaps cutting down the regens a little more. as long as they are color changing resins you can watch and see.
