Replacing a well pump.

Does anyone here know what is a reasonable charge to replace a submersible well pump? We need to replace ours and so far we have gotten an estimate of $1950 which is very high considering the pump only runs about $400-500. Any plumbers out there or could you give me a recomendation for one.

Is it a deep well or a shallow well?

where is glenn!!! ive changed planty of standard water pumps… its the “submersible” that scares me. is the pump accessible? ie:pump house or crawl space? basement maybe?? if its accessible, i can give your hubby a hand, and we can change it ourselves.

entro i am pm ing you with my cell number. i am a plumber and we will talk about it.

I thawt submersible pumps have a very long power cord to drop them down the well pipe with. all you have to do is attach a like length of flexible pvc tubing to the pump, and then slide it down the pipe to the water. doesnt sound too bad, unless the well has filled with sand or something, somehow .

ken it is alittle more than that…lol ken hows that toilet doing. well ellen has the right man for the job. MARTIN & SONS PLUMBING TOO THE RESCUE.

lol, so what exactly happened to it. Did it break, or is it just getting old and you want to replace it. my father was talking bout possible doing this the other night…

lol

I just wanted to publically thank Glen for the outstanding job he did in fixing my well. If you are ever in need of a plumber he is the man to call. He did a great job and charged us a fair price. I will be referring him when anyone asks. My husband was very impressed and is liking my tanks even more now. Lol

I am so happy that I will have water tonight when I get home.

Awesome Glenn, next day service too!

wow!! congrats e and a big shoutout to glenn. YAY!!

ellen THANK YOU for the kind words. enjoy that shower. lol as i told your hubby you may want to not use water for a daY OR TWO till chlorine smell and taste is gone from water. also ask him about hte electricstrip heat for your new building. think this would be a good option in there.
