How can youcheck and see if the membrane is bad? I saw some water dripping from the housing so I took it apart and checked everything.put it all back together and now the water is flowing through with high pressure(not normal),ithen removed membrane. And. It seemed fine.put it all back together and its still the same. Tds started at 5ppm and as it runs it goes up,but it still has high flow. Plz help

Sounds like the membrane is not seated right in the housing. It needs to press in pretty hard.
Anyway, to tell if the RO is shot you need to test the source water TDS and the TDS after the membrane and find out the % thats being removed and then you cross check that with what your membrane should be removing.
I never removed the membrane so I shouldn’t have come out

?
I removed the lid and reseated the oring, put it back on and turned it on,that’s wheni noticed the high flow of water, then and only then I removed the entire membrane and checked the orings and reinstalled the membrane and still the same result
Ok paul emailed your guy he says my membrane isn’t seated. I have checked and rechecked. What I’m noticing is I have no water coming out of the wast port of the housing
Can you check the tds of the tap water, and the tds of the r.o water… (check it before the d.i resin)
if its not a proper seating issue, then possibly the membrane has an internal leak ( common if HOT water gets accidentally pumped through it)
A lot of membranes swell a lot after use making them almost impossible to re-seat.

direct him to this thread OR call him
Do you have a flush valve installed that may be turned in the wrong direction?
Turns out there is 2 restrictors,1 is the fitting on the end of the housing and aninline barrel type.the fitting on the end of the housing wasn’t flowing any water.so I replaced it with a 50gpd as that’s all we had. Untill I order a new membrane and restrictor.thanks for all the help
