Its all nested together really well and held via the gravitational pull of the earths surface!
Really though, it feels pretty solid, and I did some minor cleanup work with a toothbrush, scrubbing away at some algae, and it didnt budge.

It’s really looking good, nicely done ::
your patience is paying off
I finally have lighting that can put out decent PAR
Reef Breeder value LED, full spectrum setup, no lenses, x2
I also added a small Naso and a small Niger Trigger
I realize they’ll both eventually get too big for the tank, but were probably 2yrs away from that at a minimum.
As for the pictures, I’m still trying to figure out how to properly white balance the Nikon D60 for the LED’s.
LED’s currently running at 60%, slowly ramping up from 25%.
And the new additions:
Nice Rob. Now you’re ready for some of that acro sticks.
Looks great, love the trigger!
Looks nice man, just added same kind of lights except mine are AJM. Love them so far also.
I think I just need to make one of the above pictures a poster and hang it over my tank for a few weeks. I’m hating my tank right now, lol.
Tank gets Ich because I was lazy and never setup a QT tank for new fish. I had to tear appart all the rockwork to get all the fish out and into a QT that I finally setup. I lost both of the Naso’s (one was a free replacement) the Niger trigger is covered in it but hopefully healing. My two Percula clowns and two Chromis are hating life in the murky green water of a small 20g long tank (due to the Muracyn-Two due to the Niger having fin fungus)
The DT is currently just a pile of randomly placed rock exposing only certian areas that had corals attached…frag plugs plugged into the sand…ugh…what a mess.
I think its just time for corals and shrimp Silly fishes!!!
I agree Silly fishes!!! < :GOLD) z<>z #@$^
Planning on having 0 fish in the new build. Hopefully the wife won’t get involved ::.

Isn’t it your wife that likes to by new fish as surprises for you when you go away ?
Yup, have to remind her, “DO NOT BUY ANYTHING WHILE I’M GONE AND PUT IT IN THE TANK!” will see how that will works out ::.
I agree A! If it wasn’t for the wifey half the stuff in my tank wouldn’t be there! :BB)
Well, it seems that having some fishies in the coral farm are a good thing. Especially fishies that do a job, like picking parasites and algae. plus their waste is good coral food. Corals don’t need much but that helps. so you need a few maintenance type fish. lawn mowers so to speak to keep things tidy and add some movement and life. Not too many. just enough for fun.

Im with Ken, a couple fish help corals be a little happier.
Ok, so we’re just past 7weeks of a fallow tank. (yeah…its sucks just as much as you think it does) However, since in about 2 weeks I can start adding back fish, I figured it was time to re-aquascape the tank from the pile of rubble that ensued from removing the fish in my futile attempt to save them from the ICH.
Next up will be to make sure the QT tank parameters are in check for the new fish. I’ll be picking some up soon and letting them chill out for 2 weeks in QT…just in time for addition to the main tank. Finally!
I’m finally starting to figure out taking pictures with the Nikon and the LED lights. In short (if you have a Mac)
There are a few other tweaks you can do, but shooting in RAW format, and that color temperature trick will get you VERY close.
In hindsight, its actually somewhat enjoyable to look at now…I should have re-scaped it sooner. It looked like a 90gallon SUMP for way too long.
Oh, and I did pickup an interesting hitch hiker on my last snail purchase from DPA:
Like the rescape Rob. Looks really nice! did you use purple up stuff to get all that coralline algae or did you just keep the MG high?
What’s on that snail, gonipora?
Thanks A. Havent done anything to purposly boost coraline production, just keeping the typical water parameters. I have no idea what is on the snail. They’re smaller then goni though, I was thinking maybe some kind of porite?
I like the rescape. nice and airy. looks good. most of us have way too much rock in our tanks.
+1 on the scape, it would look awesome with a school fish. Wish your tank was big enough for a school of anthias.
Looks nice Rob… then again i thought it looked great before as well ::
poccillipora are known to spawn and grow on anything… hard to tell, but i’d glue that snail to a rock #@$^
Rob the tank is looking good. I love the snail, it kind of looks like alvelopora, does it have a stony structure? I just had a similar outbreak in a small tank housing a pair of clowns. I noticed parasites and less than 30 hours later both were dead. Also right after adding a CUC. ::
