+1.
I’ve never seen my melanarus actually eating flatworms, but they are completely gone from my glass… so he has to be eating them, right?
I am going to dip my LPS/zoas outside of the tank and then dose the entire tank afterwards.

I don’t see any point in removing the corals and dipping them. There is no reason to stress them. Any flatworms that are one the colonies will die and be blown off by powerheads or you can use a turkey baster. Any eggs on the colonies will probably survive the dip anyway. I wouldn’t stress the corals out any more than you have to.
Sorry for the thread hijack.
I was thinking I wanted to get the flatworms off outside of the tank so I wouldn’t have those toxins in the tank since most of the visible ones are on my corals.
In that case, I would just siphon them off before hand. You want to minimize coral stress as much as possible.
The reason I dip LPS and shrooms is when I siphon near them it ruptures the flesh of the coral. I do siphon off rocks, glass and sps (hardly any on sps) with no issues. The dip is the only effective way I found for euphilia. (hammer, torch, frogspawn)
The Springer’s damsel I ordered did not arrive with the other stuff I ordered so I can’t update that, sorry.
Wow Rob, that is nice looking tank/FTS.
Is ur RBTA really that pink? It’s sick lookin!!
No, the RBTA is not that deep of a red. Knowing my father-in-law, I’m sure he worked some wizardry. Everything else is very accurate color wise, so I’m not sure why the RBTA is standing out so much.
Very nice
Is that anem staying put?
Yep, sofa the nem hasn’t attempted to move.
Here is a tank tour video I took a few days ago that has a better representation of the color.
Nice, thanks for the vid! Looks like you need some teal candy canes or hammer coral
Nice vid Rob. Things take so long to grow aren’t they.
The tank looks great. The shrooms have really taken off!!
Looks great Rob. ::
Nice video! You have some really nice fish in there.
That’s very considerate of your nem to stay right smack in the center of the tank.
Thanks all. Yeah the RBTA came with the rock…apparently he’s “attached to it”. lol
Was reading the latest issue of Reef Hobbyist Magazine…in there, there is a section that talks about tank photography. It inspired me to finally try to white balance the Nikon D60 properly for the LED’s. I used a white piece of PVC for the white balance image. Here is what the camera saw, and used to get rid of all the blue:
Picture was taken on “auto” with both white and blue channels at 100%
Stupid me didn’t take a picture of it AFTER I selected it to use as a white balance reference but…the pictures shown below were taken with the ReefBreeder Full Spectrum LED’s on 100% on both the white and blue channels.
Was trying to capture the “green” at the base of the anemone, not necessarily the fish…still…my shutter speed was too slow.
WOW! those are some nice pics Rob. Wish I have a nice camera to take some pics with.
