Start with 1/2 cup per gallon and see where that gets you and adjust from there.
okay dokay… thats what i was going to do anyways, i just didnt know if there was a specific amount…
There is a specific drinking cup that I use when mixing up to the line on a 44g brute(~30gallons). It takes roughtly 10-11 of those depending on the salinity I’m mixing to, but I have no idea how large that drinking cup is, lol. Sorry I’m no help.
Do you own a refractometer yet?

most salt mixes are around 1/2 cup per gallon but always double check after mixing. i too have a cup that i use and seems to be equal to 1/2 cup per gallon
Nope, i have a really accurate hydrometer lol… i have a cup thats exactly 1 cup… and i only have a 34g brute which has a 20g line… hmmm lucky… and yes your no help… but martin on the other hand… ok… thanks… ill try it in around an hour when its full
i go by grams per gallon, using a simple inexpensive digital scale. 568 grams per 4 gallons, as i mix up in 8 gallon increments. this NEVER works out exactly, but it’s always very close, as the 568 is for 1.025 and i wanna run at 1.026.
also, remember the temperature will affect the total amount you need to add.
i always put 35 parts of salt to every thousand parts of water lOl lOl :BEER
I WAG it, say about 5 or so scoops, but I always forget whether I’m on number 4 or 5. In my situation it doesn’t matter as much to be dead nuts on in your salt mix up tank as I control SG by what I top off the tank with RO/DI or salt. My skimmer runs a little wet so if I always topped off with water the SG would be dropping so sometimes I top it off with the fresh salt, its like a mini waterchange
