Wow that was possibly the worst semester of my life. Hahahaha obviously cause I didn’t show my face around here. I had a huge cyano outbreak coupled with some difficult classes and both my McCoskers wrasse and chalk bass did not make it. The chalk bass went carpet surfing and the wrasse just got very sick. I now just have the bicolor blenny and an early birthday present Royal gramma thanks to new roomies. I just moved to my new apartment and I used the move to completely clean out the whole tank and I got rid of the cyano problem as well as replace a power head that ended up breaking during the move. :-\ oh well it was the stock pump and i heard they were pretty crappy. Also ended up finding a crab… don’t know what he is but I am assuming he is the one that kept killing my hermits and I recalled at the beginning of my tank seeing a tiny little crab and i started to realize I was looking at him months later. I didn’t put him back cause he looks like a bad crab.
I got the light fixed thanks to DPA and their man power. But unfortunately I was looking at the fixture today after my mini vacation and it looks like the glass covering the light bulb broke. Well, it exploded is the better term. I REALLY don’t have the money for a new light fixture much less the bulb. Does any one have any words of wisdom or ideas? I basically need just a replacement sheet of glass for the light fixture. Do they sell those?
P.S. still thinking about it but i might try to make the dr. mac trip since it will be a few days after my birthday and I’ll have b-day money but i think it maybe when i’m going home but we’ll have to see

Replacement glass is no problem. What are the dimensions? Plate from the depot cut to size will work fine.[/quote]
Might be a problem. If I remember correctly, the fixture is a JBJ Viper. If so, that would have to be glass with some semblance of UV protection.
Hey sorry to hear about the rough semester, had plenty of those myself so I know where you are coming from. I’m no help on the glass. I was thinking the same thing Ted said, but not sure as I have not had that fixture. Try contacting the company that made it and the company that sold it to you.
Hope to see you at Dr. Mac’s. I’m eager to get down there he has listed some sweet items that last couple of weeks and had some nice specials recently to.
Any ideas on restocking animals or you just going to take it easy for a bit with the fish? I still think a shark nose goby would look nice in your tank.

Any glass that has iron in it will offer UV protection. Nothing extra needed
Yeah its the Viper. I bought it off ebay from someone who didn’t use it. I will try to contact JBJ but they never even got back to me when i asked about the light sticking. But I’ll see.
Actually funny you mention Jon, I was thinking about a sharknose but i’m not sure. The royal gramma has yet to come out of hiding but the bicolor is still very active. We’ll see where it takes me. I’ll know the right fish when its time. lol
Addition: I don’t really know what to do til then? Should I leave the light off? Will the bulb get damaged? I really won’t have money until my birthday or until i get a job and get paid… so I don’t really know what to do right now.
