Scooter

Hello Everyone,

About two weeks ago I asked about my scooter blenny and her tail that had disappeared some how and I had wondered what could have done it.

Lindsay just went in a week long vacation and came back and the tank is great, except for the fact that scooter is no where to be found.

My question…

I have a great clean up crew, and Way more LR than I need, and I make sure that everything is routinely cleaned (like twice a month lol) and we never have any elevated levels. So… when Lindsay is going to do a water change tomorrow after work (i would if i were down but im not :/) but… should I worry about any spikes or just trust that it really wont be that big of a deal?

Thanks a lot guys! We have had little clown gobys die before and never found them but the clean up crew ate them right up and they were never found lol. My only worry is scooter was a bit bigger. So… let me know what you all think

Generally with an adequate CUC of crabs, worms, and hermits unless you found the dead fish within a couple hours then you would probably never find it. I’ve lost fish that have been completely removed within a day.

That is what i figured but thought that I would ask  (mainly b/c my girlfriend is crushed b/c that was one of our first fish… and it has been great for a while, and a lot of fun to watch, but guess it was time to take a sand nap :P)

Doubt it will causing any significant spikes in water chemistry. Just think about the size of the fish in terms of size of food since it is being digested by other animals in the tank. It was probably the size of what about 2-3 frozen cubes? Probably not too much more then you feed on a regular basis, so it shouldn’t be much of an issue.

I wouldn’t rush to do an emergency water change, but probably wouldn’t be a bad idea to run tests on the Nitrogen cycle.
