Ok so I Bought an eshopps frag rack and the magnets that hold it in the tank arentvery strong as the glass is a bit thicker then they can handle. Well long story short the rack has slid down and scrached the hell out of the glass. Is there a way to fix this?
Is your tank acrylic? I have one of those racks and I slide it up and down all the time to clean the glass underneath and never scratch it.
No its glass, I had sand in the tank and it was blowing everywhere,so I have since removed it but I’m left with the scraches
hey, J, i have never read about glass scratches coming out. hopefully someone smarter has a method.
Try a head light repair kit my buddy bougt an old tank and after resealing it he buffed the scratches put with that looked great
did you find out anything more with this one? I didn’t think it was possible to buff out glass scratches, only acrylic. At least thats why i gave away a 180 ???
If you do a google search there are kits out there to remove fine scratches in glass but it’s gotta be dry. I’ve never attempted to do one and if there deep there not gonna come out
Yes there kits to buff out the scracthes all over goggle. Yes the tank has to be dry and if you can feel the scratch with ur nail then it will be staying there. The kits will only remove light scratches! If you try to remove deeper scratches it could distort the glass. So… with that being said “don’t scratch your tank”!
