Reef Trap - Mini - 3 in. x 9 in.

Eliminate the hassle of chasing a fish or unwanted invertebrate around your tank. The mini-reef trap is specially designed with a special bait compartment that encourages the target to go all the way into the box for you to trap and remove. This trap is reusable for whenever you need to remove an animal from your aquarium.
Size:
Trap is 3 in. x 9 in.

i tried bill’s mantis trap, but it’s too small.

Actually kind of have one, but never used it. Mine is broken and missing a door… or maybe just missing a door. I’ll take a look at mine, you can borrow mine for a couple of months if you can come up with some sort of door for it. All it would need would be a little piece of acrylic cut to the right size and thick enough to stay… I think.

Sally lightfoot crab is causing problems huh? When I was first getting into keeping marine animals one of my good friends worked at an LFS. One day he brought home a lightfoot and put it into my tank. The second it went in I knew it was trouble. Scared the crap out of me the way it moved. I knew it wasn’t a good thing. At the same time I have always thought about the possibility of having a couple in a tidal system tank connected to my main tank… Yeah if I ever hit the lotto I’ll never stop setting up new tanks and figuring out crazy ways to connect them together.

Hope you get rid of him.

jon, bring it to the armco meet. i’ll get it then unless some kind person has one earlier

i have had one all my tank days. they have never eaten anything that was still breathing. ellen i think still has my homemade trap that should work for a sally lightfoot. just add a small amount of sand in bottom then place a samll chunk of food in back of trap and he will crawl in. you can also make this from a 2 doolar mouse trap from walmart.

Try a tupperware set in the tank next to the crabs lair. Put a piece of shrimp in and in the AM the crab should be in the trap. Since the tupperware has smooth sides it shouldnt be able to climb back out after it goes in for the shrimp. Just make sure it has tall enough sides.

i need to get damsels out, so if anyone has a trap that i could borrow, or mol if you buy one… or ya w.e… im thinking about building one out of a 2 liter bottle of soda… good luck mol

there may be a possibility of splitting the $35-40 cost, if youre interested, if the glass doesn’t work

was going to suggest that… ill let you know if the bottle works too… we can talk at armco if your gonna be there…

yep. right now i have a glass container with a silverside in it. maybe it’ll take that and i can be rid of it!! good luck w/damselitis!

Someone shoot me a PM on Friday and let me know if you would still like to borrow the trap I have. Hopefully I can find it.

no luck at 10:30. ltft is out, but uninterested in silverside. chased a hermit away.

caught! PBJ!he’s a gonna go to fishbowl. thanks for the suggestion. amazingly easy and no cost!!! jon and chris are smarter than a crab!! GolfC

so, he’s now at fishbowl for anyone who wants him. very pretty animal. decent size. just not good with inverts, seems to me. and thanks again!
