Stay tuned, ill have pics up tonight…probably. Im waiting for the grout to dry. I just thought i would be a
d!ck and start the thread without pics >LOL< A couple of things im pretty proud of are a new waterchange system that is performed with the flick of a switch…well two switches and a fully intergrated frag tank that required no equipment except for the tank itself.
First pic. Ill try to get some more shots later. This is the power center. If it looks strange its because of the weird angle i had to take the pic from. Its a standard 12U rack for computer components. The flushmount timers on the top left control all of my lighting, the switches on the top right are for the waterchange. There is 120VAC and 12VDC outlet on the panel as well in case i need a quick temporary power source. The bottom has a shelf that holds all of my ballasts and has a fan mounts on the top and bottom of the case. The powerstrips are for everything else(pumps, controllers, etc). The box is “water resistant” and everything comes into the box from waterproof conduit. I have a water proof junction box near the system that contains any and all junctions that connects to the power box via the conduit. Ill try to pics of that later. Oh yeah, the box locks as well! The pics just dont do this thing justice.
Shawn, I have a feeling you’ll have some of us drooling by the end of your post…
OK, who thinks the next meeting should be at Shawns’s house? verdict_in
I’ve been to Shawn’s and the old setup made us drool. He used every inch of the small space. Can’t wait to see this
Wow looking pretty nice! You didn’t happen to keep a record of any costing did you? Or just spare parts?
My best guess of cost in that pic
I did, but i cant share…not yet anyways.
How much is the electric cord and heater unit Al? You forgot those.
Close, your only missing the rack, shelves, blank plates, and electronic guts for WC. Oh, and the timers are not that cheap, especially the heavyduty ones rated for electronic ballasts.
And those test kits are more that $15 now a days, not like they were back when you used to be a reefer.

I figured they might be the heavy duty which would double the price.
I have DJ rack and I didn’t see the guts in the pic
Ian, most except Mag and calcium are about that price Salifert - Bulk Reef Supply
Oh, if by DJ rack you meant the 12U rack then you are WAY off. Also, if the $20X2 are for the DJ switches then you are WAY off again.
Only off by 5$ each…

the first one isnt the same brand, and i would never think in a million years to look at amazon. mine are actually about 2-3 years old, but i was just pricing them for a friend and didnt see them less than $40 anywhere. good to know, thanks for the link,
No prob. I was looking into them a while ago and I found them ranging from 19.99-59.99 for the same brand at different places.
Sorry bout the 1’st one not being the same brand… didnt even check.
