visited a friend of the wife’s friend, who has a tank, and isn’t a member, has no interest, despite my best coaxing. sorry.
but he has a reef abalone in the tank. this is one of the coolest critters ever.
any knowledge about it?

there is an old Abalone farm just a half hour north of where i used to live in California, for a while.

Click on the VIDEO TOUR for a tour of the farm and raising process. you can order a bag of live ones from them. But these are a cool water species. the ocean there is usually 50-70 through out the year. reef abalones must come from a different climate. the California abalone can get pretty big. like over a foot long, and they clean the cold water reefs and kelp beds.
They are neat little critters to watch.
