i think ill do the same thing as you ellen… but my tank is only 12" wide so i think i might just dothe 4 bulb…
Ellen, if u use those 3 what do you do for the other 3
If your tank is only 12" wide then 4 bulbs is definitely enough. I use 3 ATI blue+, 2 aquablue specials, and 1 fiji purple. if I was using 4 bulbs I would try 2 blue+, 1 blue special, 1 fiji purple. You may think the fiji is too pink with only 4 bulbs running, but maybe not. All you can do is try it.
ya i run 4 blue+ 75/25 and a aquablue. sometimes i swap out a blue plus for a midday for a better par boost. logansdaddy, try using one 75/25 or a fiji pink with a normal combo, two may be too pink and thats why u dont like it, but using one really makes the pinks, purples and most other colors POP
for a 12 wide tank i would go 3 blue + and a aquablue or a ge midday. blue+ are great bulbs for color/growth.
also if u try ellens advice and think the fiji is too pink try an actinic white or an aquasun, they do the same as the fijis just on a smaller scale, imo they would work better in a 4 bulb fixture.
I think I see a little bit of xenia in the corner, but I would say your tank looks like mostly SPS with a couple of clams and LPS.
I was talking about the new 45g in this sentence. I was trying to point out that T-5’s work for a wide variety of corals. I actually have a few sps in the new tank, but they were only put in there for the file fish. I only have 4 clams in the new tank so far, but I am planning at least 2 more. ;D
