thanx bill. love the shell coloring too

great clam, i want to get one sometime soon

wow 2 awesome

Yeah that is nice

Purty clam!

many thanks. i think he is a beauty. looking for just one more teardrop this year.

nice clam. i have one that is almost identical in coloration. its a much faster grower than my crocea and has almost doubled in size in a year and half. there has been a couple of gold maximas showing up lately at some of the online vendors.

“i have one that is almost identical in coloration”
so where’s the picture???

i noticed an abundance of croceas. all over the place

real nice paul!! u really like the clams huh? they all look great.
i have noticed the same thing about the croceas, getting pretty commonly available, and getting cheaper by the week. still nice looking clams tho.

thanks bj. if i could have a clam acan/blasto trachyphyllia tank, i’d be in heaven. next tank, next year, better lights, add some croceas, yikes!!

That clam sure is a beauty. I will be looking for one for my new tank. You can keep crocea under t-5’s Paul you just need good individual reflectors. I am not sure which system you have right now, but I have seen some nice ones under t-5. Mine is doing well although the colors have changed some.

thanks ellen. i don’t have live rock high enough so any croceas would not get close enough to my nova extreme. they do have individual reflectors, but i made a promise that croceas must wait until the next tank, the one that will have better lighting. how’s the snail prob? my derasa seems fine, and i got him june 2 from the same place.

Well I am still in the check every 3 days and srcubb phase, but as of thursday night I didn’t notice any when I looked. All the clams are doing much better thanks to Chris and Skinz great advice.

yay!! PBJ!

so where's the picture???

finally got around to taking a couple of tank pics. Im guessing the size of the maxima is about 6" and the crocea is about 4-4.5". They were both about 3" when i got them. Ive had the crocea for probably a 1.5-2 years and the maxima 1-1.5 years.

very jealous, shawn. beauties!
but you need more snails. i can still see some glass on the side.

Looks great Shawn !!!

thanks guys.
