these are getting to be a bit too much

should i scrape it off?
my last post about other eggs had smaller trail of them , but these are long and scary. the pic is out of focus, but the thing is made up of the same basic look. finger is for a size idea

Hi,

Whatever hatches out will either be CUC or food for fish/corals. I would let it go. My snails lay eggs constantly. I can’t really tell from the pic, but there also worms that build tubes with substrate. Does it look like sand around a string? If so, just knock it off, there are more.

Joe

have u seen long clear worms? this could be them making them. just knock it down. i knocked them down all the time so it should be fine but the pic isnt to good so i cant tell 4 soure

joe, it looks just like the top picture, seems like sand on a string. those are about 4 days old. the long one is this morning. i’ve only seen some short white worms, nothing long . brett.

this is from my aqua pod today snail getting busy

what kind of snail eggs are those?

either nasser or nerite snail eggs

well tell me if they hatch id be interested in a few HJack

Everybody gets snail eggs on the glass from time to time, but I never hear of young, small snails showing up. I’m not sure what kind of larval stage they have to go through or what they eat until they grow into little snails. it might be a water bourne stage for a while, in which case they are eaten by corals and fish, or clog up the filter media.

But there is hope. someday one of us might figure it out and start growing them. that would be nice. Ecological too!!

Shawn has a bunch of snails that breed like crazy in his tank…

most snail eggs are planktonic and do not survive. the best ones that breed and survive from what i have read are nasser

Speaking of filter media borne critters… Every time I change my filter pad in the back of my filter it’s loaded with live brine shrimps. I feel like I’m wasting food when i throw out the pad…
