Toshiba Camileo submersible camera

Hey guys,
Today I was asked to test drive Mr. Moliken’s Camileo BW10 underwater digital camera.
After some debate, I was informed that Jess would be taking over as photographer… HJack

This is the first round of photos. Very nice!

Can anyone take a guess as to what is going on in this next pic?

Nice camera Paul!

WoW! does it have white balance? I know your tank is mostly blue Josh. Wonder what it would look like in a white tank. Your trachy is either eating something or something has torn it mouth.

There doesn’t seem to be a white balance option. I’ll mess with it more when I get a chance tmrw.
Also, the ‘welso’ IS eating a HUGE chunk of shrimp. As always, very cool to watch.

This camera also takes video. Stay tuned.

Seems to take nice pictures!

More pics!

joe the coral

john’s strawberry # 1

a’s coral with john’s strawberry # 2 in rear

craig’s coral

tim’s coral

Man that’s some very cool pics

Very nice pics!!!

Nice shots, sounds like a fun little camera… that woulda made a nice toy for the octopus, he could’ve took it and made a video JuMp ThIs

I’m glad the strawberry is doing well, i’m looking forward to getting a piece back someday. All you guys are killing me seeing all these pics of it #@$^

::rofl::

This is my (Josh) frst try with the camera. Here’s a couple more pics. I’m working on my film making skills… I will debut my first video… as soon as it doesn’t suck. :GEEK:

Thanks for looking!

Very cool pics!

Jess must have taught you how to use it ::rofl::

btw whats the minimum focus length? looks like you’re getting pretty close…

and why did Paul buy an underwater camera? no more tank, pond? it’s scary, i’m hoping he’s not planning on hot-tubbing with it :SURRENDER

looking forward to seeing a video Josh n Jess ::thumbsup::

Jess had nothing to do with this John! slap-stick It has an 11.8" minimum focus distance. Also, I don’t know what that means.

the minimum focus distance is simply how close the lens can be to the subject and obtain maximum focus.

so if that camera is 11.8 inches away from a coral, then some part of that image will be in “perfect” focus.

however, at 11.7’’ distance away nothing would be as crisp as possible with that lens…
it’s like looking at something with your eye… you can only put something so close before it starts to get blurry again…

hope this makes sense…
maybe try to take a pic of your finger nail at diff distances… you’ll see what i mean when you compare details from a pic a foot away vs. 6 inches

Considering my tank size, I have zero room to get far enough away for optimal focus. You’ve seen the tank.

I’m finding it difficult to take video. It’s not awkward, but it’s not ideal for shooting in a 65g tank.

Paul, stay 6ft under the surface of the water or less and you’ll have no problem during your trip next year… no hot tubs though, please.

now , john, THAT was funny. no hottub. lol i’m planning on a 5 week trip to palau next year and i’m planning on a week or so of very shallow dives. that probably means 5 hours or more on a tank. YUMMIE! i do not have any u/w camera, and i figured josh will get the glitches out of this camera. i guess blennies, octopus, squid, sea horses mandarin and lotsa acros all can easily be in 6’or less. now, yep, now, you can be envious. hope this old body holds up.
GREAT shots josh. the nem is beautiful. why not try noon light, no blues. see how the camera performs.

I can’t wait to see pics from that trip Paul ::thumbsup::

Paul, stay 6ft under… " " "[/quote]

watch the wording there Josh… that could be taken wrong by the “one foot in the grave” types lurking around here ::rofl::

LMFAO! That was one hell of a freudian slip! Saint:)

Should I just post a video so everyone can see the quality of the recording?

yes and some noon pics w/white light only

I don’t have any white bulbs…
Does anyone have a couple white T5’s or leds I can borrow?

Would it be easier to just use the camera on a tank with whiter lighting. >IDEA<

That’s an excellent idea John!

I’ll make a couple calls and see if I can find any volunteers.

Anyone around Townsend/Middletown area?
