I had fun. Always good to see everyone. Saw some faces we hadn’t seen in a while and some new ones as well. Good turnout tonight.

Oh I forgot!(this is what I get for starting a thread before Craig posts the official meeting wrap up) And thanks to Jcling for sharing thier tanks with us! You two have some nice tanks and beautiful animals. So jealous of your fish raising experience. You talked about how easy it is to do, but really down play your devotion. Not many of us could feed as often or do water changes once or twice a day! Give you guys mad props for keeping up with it.
Speaking of Craig’s meeting wrap up. We all know how great the record keeping is. Why don’t we all help Craig out and post who won what at the raffle, so we know who to stalk to get a frag from.
-Zoanthid frag went to ???
-Hulk Green clove frag went to hounsdbayman (BTW I’m first in line for a frag already so before anyone else decides to make him an offer BACK OFF! First one is mine. >LOL< JK Not really >::: )
-Something went to Kdino…
after doing some research last night i think i ended up with the blue ridge coral (helipora) but i guess i would need to confirm that with icy. its weird how its more colorful when its dead then it is when alive.
May at times be worth dead as well. Often times run into these guys on ebay on a string made to put around a womans neck. From the polyps Bill was describing I wouldn’t think that is it, but I could be wrong. If it is put me on the list for a frag. These guys may be one of the first to become illegal to sell if the gov ever makes it that far.
Yep, probably the blue ridge coral (Heliopora sp.) Is brown, and mounted horizontal on the frag plug to ensure the best growth/ecrustation. BTW… dont put that next to anything else. Our frag that was about 2x the size has encrusted an area about 2" in each direction… in a month and a half. In a year you should be selling that to LFS and local members without a problem.
Good win mikwar. Those are Carribean Zoanthids collected down in the Big Pine Key area. They come in a variety of colors, and each polyp can be a different color. I have known a few people that cut off one individual polyp, and then grew that color morph out into a whole colony.
