Vegetable Garden Seeds

I just planted my seeds for the indoor portion of my garden tonight. I have some left over if anyone is interested.

Green Beans, Peas, Butternut Squash, cucumbers, and a few hot peppers.

Again - if anyone is interested.

:frowning: Man if I had my own property. Our yard is mud from the annoying kids next door playing football. Really wish we had a yard. Not that I actually eat vegetables, but Steph does.

You should eat your vegetables, Jon. to grow up big and strong. Steph has the right idea. You could grow a couple plants in pots on the back porch. that would work. Good practice.

Not sure what i will grow in my little garden plot this year. but i will probably buy some mater plants from the nursery this spring. I bet some mater seeds from last years crop sprout out there too. but i want to try something different this year. I really like fresh, ripe tomatoes in summer. I’m still cutting down trees to let in the sun.

Last year we planted tomatoes, squash and zucs but really did not eat the tomatoes.
I would be interested in some seeds.

One year I did corn and started inside and I was picking corn by the 4th of July. I remember my parents saying knee high by the 4th of july. I’d rather but fresh jersey corn at a farmers market. Its usually sweeter and the cobs are larger

I got in to gardening last year because someone gave me a cucumber plant and a few pepper plants.

I wanted more variety so I picked up a packet of corn seeds. It sucked. It grew - had stalks about 6’ tall - wach with 2-3 ears on it - but by the time I decided it was ready to be picked it was mush.

I let the rest die in the ground and pulled the stalks out, tied them to the porch and the mailbox for Halloween and Thanksgiving decorations. Was worth the $1 I spend on the seeds.

Now who would do a dumb thing like that? give you some plants?

He’ll remian nameless :stuck_out_tongue:

But thanks Ken - this year I am more than doubling the size of my garden. Last year I had about 18 total plants growing (including the not so sucessful corn experiment) - I just started 72 plants for this year. Hopefully most will make it to the transplant stage and will produce some nice veggies.

Thats good. you will enjoy them. I got some plants from DPA tonight for my guppy tank. but that don’t count. I will plant the garden later with some nursery plants. I dont need much, but i have some horse radish i planted last year that should be ready to start digging up. once you get it started, it just keeps coming back.

Southern States had broccoli cauliflower Brussel sprouts, onion sets yesterday. Also pullets for $4 each. Don’t see that in N Wilmington!

Horseradish will turn into a weed if you let it go.

Thats cool Ted, pullets for spring chickens. Hmmm this place is having a CASH FOR CLUCKERS sale on Delaware Pullets. Too bad they are in Minnie-soda.

Yeah but I live in New Castle County and I have less than 1 acre of land which means I can’t keep farm animals on my property. I checked in to it when I wanted to buy a goat last year.
