I found this on the glass today after doing my water change. Not sure what it is.
Can you describe? what is it doing? what it looks like? and so forth. Can’t tell anything from the pic.
it was hard to get a good pic. The kind of resemble white worms but they dont move or anything. They just sit there.
How big/small are they? Do they have “antenna” Do they have legs? Is there a dark spot at one end? Do they interact with stuff? (like food, light, flow, etc.)
The better you can describe them the more likely we can help.
Did you clean your glass before the water change? if so, I think it may be the residue from the pipe that blew out and stuck to the glass. Once you turn your pump back on after the water change did you see stuff came out of the pipe? I don’t think its anything since it not moving.
Here is a good critter id page with pictures.
no legs or antennas no spots of any kind. They are all white. The were moving when the powerheads were on but I turned them off and then there was no movement. Did not clean the glass. I just syphoned the water out of my sump today because I wanted to clean out the junk that was laying in there. I took out some rock that was laying in there and syphoned some sand and little pieces of rock from in there. Did not mess in the DT at all. When I turned pumps back on the sand that I stirred up in the sump went into the DT.

did not resemble any of those.
If you’re pretty sure its a worm, try here:
Reefman or someone had something like that once. I though it was one of these.
hard to tell though, from the picture.
If it’s some of these, , , , well, you better just nuke the tank.
He He! ::
Oh no!!! Not a Denebian Slime Devil!!! Those are the worst!!! Get it while its still small!!! God save us all!!! :-)###
I LOL’d
BTW, that just looks like crap I clean off the glass if I neglect it for a few days. My Melenaurus wrasse is constantly throwing substrate into the water colums and it gathers any anything tiny/sticky that might be on the glass over time if I dont clean it every few days.
Yeah I thought that was pretty funny too!! Yeah I beginning to think it is just some residue of some sort. I am going to clean it off of there. Doesnt appear to be moving or have any body parts or anything.
Need more water flow so it won’t build up
yeah I def need more water flow. One of my power heads quit working on me.
you know, if they are alive, they could just be mini feather dusters. if you shook up the sump with a lot of their tubes down there, and busted them up. the bare worms may havebeen blown into the tank. and just settled on the glass and stated growing new tube shells.
You can kinda see the same stuff in the macro video I took of an Astrea snail and Asterina starfish.
Watch it in HD
Yeah it does look like whats in your video
Not to HJack your thread Karen, but Rob look at the video starting from 43-56 second did you notice cone shape snails on the bottom right hand side of large snail that its hitchhike on? I’m not sure what kind of snails they are, but hopefully they’re not the infamous pyramids snails. Also, you don’t have any clam in your tank right? if so, they may be eating at your clams. Hope they will not damage your tank animals.
Yah A, I did notice those. Didn’t know they could be bad. No clam in there yet, and I havent seen any of those type of snails anywhere else but under that Astrea. As if these flatworms weren’t bad enough!!!
