where to buy acrylic glue

Anyone know where to buy some acrylic glue? weld-on or anything. i leak-tested a sump i got from TFP and showed no leaks but when i put it in the stand it leaked. when i took it out it did not leak… im justgunna redo the edges don’t care what it looks like… Acrylic glue would be great unless you can get some Chloroform for me.

Kaufman glass, on Quigley, other side of the road from the back exit from farmers market at the airport. across the road from Grangers electrical supply. they sell the thin stuff, weldon #3 and the thickened gel weldon #16. or at least they used to. In the Yellow pages.

if not. it’s on the internet. at places like.

Just a suggestion, but when you put the sump in the stand are you putting it on anything? Or right on the hard bottom of the stand? I have read multiple times that people recommend getting some of the styrofoam insulation sheeting from Lowes or Home Depot and cutting a section to put under the sump. The reason is that if the sump isn’t perfectly square or the stand floor isn’t perfectly flat it can cause the sump to flex and the corners to flex enough to leak or even fail unexpectedly. So you put the styrofoam insulation under it to give a soft bottom for the sump to level itself. I’d say you should use some 1/2" stuff like this:

I just ordered some custom cut black acrylic pieces and Weldon 4 from tap plastics online. I like Weldon 4 because it has a longer work time so you can make adjustments as needed. I agree that foam should be under all acrylic talks, but a sump you’d almost think being small and not all the way filled would matter? I’m no acrylic expert but sounds like its worth a try. Goodluck with your sump.

i had put the sump right on the bottom of the stand. maybe that was the cause but i’d like to seal it for good. right now the tank is running out of a 5 gallon bucket.

weldon 4 is flammable, weldon 3 is not. I think DPS is correct about a work time. but both work just as well. sometimes shipping a flammable liquid costs much more as hazardous material. then buy the #3.

dry the tank, place it on newspaper on the tile floor and fill with water to try and locate the leak . if it was not level and allowed to flex a little under the water load, one little spot may have cracked. you can find it.
