Where to buy Pickling Lime??

I’ve been researching, and waiting all week til i had time today to make kalkwasser and get this ph up, done a lot of reading about it, seems to be the way to go for now, so where can i buy some today is the main question… i’m in newark, and i know dpa has kalkwasser, but do any grocery stores carry the pickling lime around here??/

I always heard you could get Mrs. Wages pickling lime at wal-mart. never looked for it though.

Yep, walmart has it near the mason jars.

I got mine from Walmart just a stated above. It was on a end cap with the canning goods and mason jars

Wait till Ken pops online, we’ll get a detailed report of locations where it can be found. (he’s a big fan of the DIYS three part) Maybe save a couple of drops of gas and get it closer to home then walmart, lol

oh oh, late for my cue. yup, ive bought a dozen one pound jars at my local walmarts in the past. havent seen it at the route 40/ 13 split store this year. but may have stocked it. try one of the supper stores, like on 40 just over the maryland line or the one up near green banks. Ive bought it there too in the canning dept of the food store. But i may not have focused on the right container this year. i have seen it online now in a zipplock plastic bag to save pakaging.

oh, and the new FOOD LION grocery store at Beaver Brook Plaza on RTE 13 just south of 40 has some. they charge about $4 a pound jar, walmart has been less than $3.

I stopped at the 40/13 walmart just now, and since they did the new layout and remodel, they restocked the Mrs. Wages Pickling lime. it is in one pound zip lock bags for $2.64. it’s there.

oh yeah, the new food lion at beaver brook near me is new last year. nice store.
