i just went to move my little magnetic algae remover when i noticed white eggs with a clear sack around them…there were a good bit of them that blew off into the tank, and some are still on there. they look like frog eggs except smaller…i wonder if they are snail eggs?
i also was looking at a peice of my rock and i have a pink flat sponge like thing growing. This rock has been in the tank for a year now, so im not sure if something would be popping up now? ill have to put a pick on here of that, i just wanted to add that too
I noticed a small sack in my tank about the size of a pea with a little almost polyp looking thing sticking out of it. It was there for about 2-3 weeks and looks like it is opened now. No idea what it was/is, couldn’t see it enough to see any eggs inside.
I have noticed recently small snail looking creatures (spiral) on my tank side glass, no idea what they are either.
well if you really want to see freaky things get out the flashlight. atleast once a week but usually more i look around my tank at night with light. many new baby snails, conch babys and all star fish. never know what and where ya see new things.
I identified the ‘sack’ that was under a rock as a Scypha sponge and the little spirals as Spirorbid worms, but then I also started to get worried as I can’t tell if one of my zoo colonies are spreading or if something is growing next to them and reading up on the zoo eating nudi’s I just can’t tell.
I’ve found a good way to find zoa nudis is to piss of the zoas good. Once they are closed, look on on them for little spots of the same color that the coral is. One of the other people here in dover just found a bunch on one of their new frags and are trying to get rid of them.
i tried taking some of the eggs. but the all came out pretty much useless…
i still have to post a pic of this pink sponge like stuff growing on a rock…
also, if u have zoa eating nudi’s will u notice your zoas diminishing or can they stay under the radar?
Could take them a while to cause some real damage on the zoas, but they’ll kill them eventually and mean while keep a lot of them from opening up.
Post any pics you have and we’ll see what we can figure out. Can you describe the eggs a little more? Are they still there? Look soft and jelly like? Hard white and calcareous? You said there was a clear sack around them, was it around all of them or each one had it’s own sack?
Guess what??? There are more eggs!? This time though, they are right on front of the glass, so as soon as my GF gets home, ill be snapping off pics…
collectively, the clear sack covers the entire batch of eggs, but each egg is in its own sack…
they appear to be soft, definitly not hard. Im beggining to really wonder what they are now…its not like eggs appear once a month or soo, this has happened now twice in a span of around a week…
I remember buying some snails from DPA, that Sean had bought in he said, he had also said that these snails were repo’ing like crazy in his tank. I’ve had freshwater snail eggs that resemble these ones in my old FW tank…the pics will be up before tonight…
It could very well be snail eggs. They look almost identical to nudibranch and sea slug eggs, and without watching the dirty deed go down its sometimes hard to tell.

They’re snail eggs! So far, everyone that has gotten snails from me has had them reproduce. The good news is i think i finally have a positive ID. LA sells them as “Mexican Certihs”
