Who has shipped corals before?

And what do you guys tell FedEx what’s in the box?

Electronics

Ive not shipped corals but everything i have ever got has been marked express overnight live animals inside.

Same experience here as billrob. I only ever do shipments this time of year and in the fall. Once it gets into the 70s or stays in the 40s or below I think it is too risky.

Tell them it’s live corals and you understand that they will not be insured. Write Live Fish or something to that effect on the box. If you have a decent human being, they will be more careful while handling the box. Of course, the automated portions will still be a rough ride.

FedEx and UPS have been back and forth on what is acceptable but I can tell you from hundreds of shipments that UPS will ship livestock, they just won’t insure the package for loss.

I sents some frags to GARF a couple times. packed them late as possible in the afternoon, and dropped em off at Fed ex or whatever just before their cut off to ship overnight that evening. no problem. told em its live corals. they said, Whats that? got there 10:30 next morning.

Thanks everyone.
