So the MJ I have is one of the newer Utility/Powerhead/Laminar flow units.
Left for Jersey around 3pm yesterday, got home at 10:30pm, went to check on the tank and the new clownfish (which as advertised by Jason has had NO issues and is looking comfortable and eating) and found my return pump died. It’s the original Rio 2100 that I purchased w/ the tank 14yrs ago…not too shabby, but its now DEAD (popped the GFCI) and my tank is still.
I had the MJ in laminar flow, 5min later I have it reconfigured in utility mode (good for 6’ of head pressure) so I can sleep ok knowing that I have atleast some flow in the tank overnight.
I’ve also used it to pump water for water changes.
Nice little pump to keep on reserve for sure!
I’m headed over to DPA in a few hours to get a replacement unless someone close to Elkton has one they want to sell.
