the wife did it i set her up with a 28 nano and she bought her first fish for it tonight. Got her off of freshwater fish. a goat fish and a small puffer. i will post a pic later she is very thrilled with her new tank.
Oh it gets expensive when they get into it. New curtains to match the new coral. The sofa clashes with the flame angel. When you got to the store you will have to spend more money on her needs then what you want for your tank.
NO really its awesome but now it will be hard to hide costs
i hear you… and feel your pain i already had to buy her a new table to get my big tank
Good for you. It makes it so much nicer when both parties enjoy the hobby. Mine still won’t top a tank off but she ejoys going to the LFS as much as I do…well maybe not quite that much…but she like picking fish out more then I do.
Al’s right - it does get harder to hide your expenses when she’s at the store with you on every trip.
Sweet, congrats, tell her “Welcome to the Salt Side mwahahhaha”. It just sounds so evil heh.
Yea my gf likes to come to the store and pick out ‘fishies’ that are ‘cute’, so I can take them home and take care of them… And those damn ninja star snails that don’t do a damn thing, but I guess they do look cool. Craig and I tried to get her to get her own tank last night, but that’s never going to happen. Or it may be her tank, but I’d take care of it.
That’s like Icy’s tank. He calls it his but Keleigh is the true master behind the tank.

That['s not true…he has the little on between the couches.
this all started when she wanted to get a oscar tank and i got my first saltwater tank. Every time we went to the lfs she would always pick something cute out for my tank??? hmmm.
Lets see the pink pincushin urchin… i called the death star of the tank. no coraline was safe… then we had the chocolate chip starfish ate 2 not just 1 of my anemones… needles to say they have both found new homes DPA…
So her tank is hers to do with as she pleases but some how i know she will have a hand in my big tank…which is nice. Because, it does suck when one party doesn’t enjoy the things you do… but i wont be able hide how much i spent… guess i will have to have a slush fund.lol

Ha! So true! My gf did the same thing, she picked out every damn damsel in TPP! I finally gave in and she got a neon psuedochromis.
Chris, glad to see the wife got into the hobby. Now things should really get interesting. She should see the need for an upgrade very soon, I see you getting a 300g easy!
she has let me look up to 265 but i think she has changed her mind a bit…lol we shall see. she did see the electric bill wow lucked out on that one… {:-}
The electric bill is nothing compared to the water bill when you start running an rodi unit.
Nothing like trying to explain that for every gallon of water made we flush 4 gallons down the drain.
Wow, is that really how much water you waste with RO/DI? That is insane! I may never move out of an apartment at that right. Loved free water at my old place. Either that, or just never get an RO/DI unit, softies love dirty water anyway.
Hahah funny guys. We did finally fix the bubble problem by the way… just took everything apart and reapplied teflon tape and replaced the rubber o-rings in the unions. Now unless I happen to top off on the wrong side and it sucks bubbles up from that we are fine.
O/T… Liverocks08, under your name it says vendor. What do you vend?
nothing yet… but i have some idea’s
my ro isn’t too bad i have well water. so the only thing i have to watch is running the well dry… no pun intended… and i caputure my waste water to use for other things.

But the big question is…Who did the work?
It was a team effort… I did the work and she supervised. Kinda like doing landry is a team effort… I get it dirty and…
Never mind I’m not stupid enough to finish that sentence.
