Williams Greenbank

A friend and I went into the store a couple of days ago and i was amazed by the fish and corals…

the back coral tanks are looking healthier than usual, and has a lot of diversity…nice ricordias, leathers, large zoo + mushroom rocks, ect…

the fish also look very healthy, and there are a few exotic fish, as well as two wierd fish ive never heard of before…they have little skeleton like legs and crawl on the ground…

ending up getting a butterfly, a yellow grouper, and some nice frags for under $100…

after all the talk about greenbanks, i decided to stop in there today. there were a LOT of fish, and a good amount of variety as well as some rarities. i must say, all of the fish looked very healthy.
the soft corals look great also, but the prices were high. not to mention that you couldnt tell what was for sell without asking because its arranged like a display instead of a retail tank.

the only thing i didnt like was that half of the livestock wasnt labeled or priced. not to mention that when i went in, the was a visitor(family member?) with a pitbull in the store, and the owner/manager? was dropping the F-bomb left and rigt. im just glad i didnt have my son with me.

i would probably go back again when im stocking my large FOWLR, he had some HUGE(12"+) angels in there, too bad they were in what look to be 20-30g tanks.

i ended up going to PA and picking up a really nice pink torch colony. they also had two really nice blue duncans(about 4-6 heads each) but i just didnt have the money.

Ohh… yumas? Come on now, we need pictures. (well at least I do)

You get excited about frags under $100?!? Where do you normally shop? lol If you think that’s a deal I have a TON of frags I’ll sell you for less then 90$

I haven’t been in there in a long time. I’d stop by if I wasn’t moving.

BZ what color were the rics? I picked up two for 12 bucks at the NJRC frag swap this week end. One was orange with blue center the other was green. Both mounted.

Oh and since no one else said it I got dibs on the first frag of that pink torch colony Shawn. I wanted to get it, but thought about it too long as well.

Jon

Hehe, beat ya to that on the other thread Jon. PBJ!

Pics Jon? Were those yumas or floridas? If theyre yumas get chopping man

Not allowed to chop them till they get really big. Steph likes rics, but she gets upset when I make them less them a centimeter in size. I gotta grow some of them out. I’ll get pics after I am done moving.

I went in a while ago…I agree, different fish selections, fairly healthy looking fish, little higher than usual prices, sells live brine shrimp, fills bags with o2 (kinda cool if you have an extra long ride home), the guy was loud and obnoxious but overall nice. I didn’t like how he changed a pricing on hermits on me, said 2 for 5 on the tank, but he wiped it off and said he could only sell for 2.99 a peice. Fish labeling and pricing was laid out badly. But I liked the store

Your right, the store was nice overall. Very clean and the system is designed well. The tanks were spotless and all fish looked extremely healthy. I think its probably one of the first times i have ever been into a LFS and not seen dead or dying fish. It was refreshing. He really should consider setting up at least a 55g tank to hold some of the larger fish, the big queen angel he had could barely turn around inside of the tank it was in.

+1 its a nice store and good selection of fish and coral. very healthy. ur right about price but ill bite the bullet.

I keep losing bets on when Bill will finish the new row of plexi tanks and get them running. Been over two years now. I guess he works as fast as me. HE-HE!!

He said he didn’t think the clients were in the area for that many corals before the economy went in the crapper, before the stock market crashed, and before half the people in this area got laid off… I’ll bet a $10 frag he doesn’t have it up in the next 3 years if ever.

Jon

I would take you up on that bet, but i would prbably lose that one too. The suspense is killing me!
