I need 5-7 lbs of live rock, and if anybody has any to spare let me know.
i was just about to do a W/C, when i found about 5-6 pieces of base rock that i had to remove from my tank after i purchased a good bit of live rock…i dunno how long it has been sitting out, but its completely dried out…
as soon as i saw the pieces i thought about ya…lemme know, id say its between 10-15 lbs total.
I’m not looking for base rock right now actually. I want the live rock so I can have some biological filtration in my sump.

Add the baserock to the sump. It will seed and you’ll have liverock with bio filtration on it in 2 weeks.
What would I seed it with? I don’t have anything in the tank. THis is to help cycle the tank. This is for my prop tank.
you would just have to take the baserock and put it in an established tank for a little bit…then the question becomes how long do you have to leave it in before its “seeded”…
You can seed it with a piece out of your display tank. Or you can throw it in by itself and go through your normal cycling. When the cycle is complete you have liverock. I tink I have a couple small pieces of LR in my sump that I’ll give you to seed the base with if you need them.
He has no live rock in the tank ! what he needs is some seed live rock to jump start the tank from the sump. although i think some should go in the tank for the coraline to multiply. Too…
actually , what you really need is some GARF Grunge! a couple pounds will do just fine to give you all the good bugs, sponges, perhaps mini stars, snails and worms and coraline. then once you get them, you gots to feed them! to keep them alive and multiplying. Good stuff, that grunge…
hey, we could maybe make a little shared shipping buy from GARF. get some frags, get some grunge and whutknot! or better yet, make a little trade in kind. they like to trade for new corals to add to their genetic bank. even for coral clones that came from them in the first place. just to see how they have morphed.
I always wunted to do that. make a trade with them, to sorta help out. ya know. I like the GARF program. They are a great group with a wonderful mission.
I wonder if they are still trading for stuff.? Or If we have anything unique to offer in trade.?
I bet i got one or two interesting frags to trade.

I am with Kapt. Ken on the garf grunge. HJack :think) As a matter of fact I am thinking of ordering some, do I smell group buy?? I need about 4 or 5 lbs for my 24 g nano. 3 types of Grunge all $5.00 a lb. And shipping is only 13.00 for up to 20 lbs. So thats pretty good deal. We can have them divide it and bag it and then we’ll meet to deliver the goods. Just a thought. No hurry, let me know.
