Welcome to the club. For starters why not start a thread over in Members Tanks that you can tell us all about your system, post pictures, get advice etc etc.
As far as your wish list - we all have one no worries there.
Your “underwater fans” are called power heads - they move water. You’re probably picturing Korlias. I should have a few available in a couple days. Just need to clean them up first.
Sump - could only offer a 55g and I don’t think you’re going to have room in your stand for that.
MH lighting is good, I think there is someone around here that has some available. If not you might also want to consider T5 lighting.
When you get your refugium set up let me know and I’ve got cheato for you.
I have xenia, green star polyps, and kenya trees all available now for $5/frag and cabbage leather for $10. I’d suggest upgrading your lights before you try to keep coral.
I wouldn’t worry about mated pair of mandarins yet. I wouldn’t even reccomend mandarins at all for another year. They generally only eat live food (copeods and isopods) and your tank just isn’t going to be able to sustain one right now.
Test kits I’d suggest picking up from your local fish store or online merchant. They have expiration dates so if you get one used you really have no way of knowing how old it is.
Welcome to the club! seems like you are on your way to a great set up. Please post some pics of your tank.
1st: you say you planning on keeping starter corals. What type? hard or soft? you say you’re running T5s, are the wattage enough for corals? you already have xenia and your description to the other corals seems like maybe a Kenya tree or Colt. those are low light and they sould be fine with your current set up.
2nd: the anemone, I’m not sure what type you have. However, most anemone do require lot of lighting to florish, otherwise, it will slowly waste away with out you even knowing thats its gone.
3rd: are you using any protein skimmer? you didn’t mention any. It’s a good thing to have if your planning on keeping corals.
Once you’re ready for begining hard corals, I have some very easy to keep montipora for sale for $5, if your interested.
just found out i do not have t5 lights. they are 65w power compact. 4bulb. 2 daylight 2 attenic. thinking about buying a t5 soon. i will post pics soon
